Primera División - Clausura (Uruguay) (Torneo Clausura) - the closing tournament of the season within Uruguay’s top-flight league championship, organised under the Uruguayan Football Association. Regulations: 16 clubs take part, it is played as a single round-robin with each team playing 15 matches, with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss, and for ordinary positions ties are broken by goal difference and then goals scored, while if teams remain level for 1st place an additional play-off match is played. The Clausura winner goes into the season’s championship play-off together with the Apertura winner and the winner of the aggregate annual table, and Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana places are allocated under the competition rules via the annual table and the championship stage. Relegation is determined by a separate relegation table based on average points over the last two seasons, calculated as total points divided by matches played across that period.
