Vietnam Cup (Cúp Quốc gia) - Vietnam’s premier domestic knockout cup competition for professional clubs run under the national federation and the professional league operator. Regulations: the tournament is played as single elimination with one match per round, if the score is level after 90 minutes the winner is decided by a penalty shoot-out, the competition progresses from an initial round through to the final, the two semi-final winners advance to the final and the two semi-final losers are joint third place. The cup winner qualifies for the Vietnamese Super Cup match and receives a national slot for the next season AFF club competition subject to AFC club licensing requirements, if the requirements are not met the slot is reallocated under the competition regulations.
