

Welsh Premier League (Cymru Premier, Uwch Gynghrair Cymru) - the top-tier club league in Wales organised under the Football Association of Wales. Regulations: the league comprises up to 12 clubs and is played in two phases, in Phase 1 teams play each other home and away, then the league splits into two groups of six, the Championship Conference and the Play-Off Conference, with all points from Phase 1 carried forward, and in Phase 2 clubs play home and away within their conference and the champion is the club with the highest total points in the Championship Conference. If clubs are level on points, tie-breakers are applied in sequence including overall goal difference, overall goals scored, then head-to-head criteria as set out in the rules, followed by wins, away wins, disciplinary points and, if required, a play-off match in a format directed by the league. A league play-off mechanism awards a UEFA Conference League qualifying place with scenarios depending on the Welsh Cup winner’s league position, the play-offs are single-leg ties hosted by the higher-ranked club after Phase 1 and Phase 2, and if level after 90 minutes the winner is decided by a penalty shoot-out. European qualification: the league champion is nominated for UEFA Champions League qualifying subject to club licensing, while Wales’s other European places are allocated via the Welsh Cup and the league play-offs in line with the UEFA access list and nomination rules.
