Welsh Cup (Cwpan Cymru, Welsh Cup) - Wales’ national knockout cup competition organised by the Football Association of Wales. Regulations: the competition is open to men’s clubs playing under the association’s jurisdiction and meeting the home ground requirements, and entry is mandatory for clubs in tiers 1 to 3 of the domestic league system, with the bracket built through qualifying and main rounds and with byes awarded to certain higher-tier clubs into a later round, while draws from the Qualifying Round up to and including Round 2 are made in geographical groups and the draw is open from Round 3 onwards. All rounds are single-match knockout ties, the venue is set by the draw, and if scores are level after normal time no extra time is played and the winner is decided by a penalty shoot-out. The winner takes the association’s domestic cup-winner berth for UEFA Conference League qualifying, subject to admission criteria.
