AFC Champions League Two (ACL Two) - Asia’s second-tier continental club competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation, introduced as part of the AFC’s club competition reform as the successor to the AFC Cup. Regulations: the proper competition typically features 32 clubs and is split into West and East regions, running through a group stage and knockout stage, with the group stage drawn into 8 groups of 4 (4 groups per region) played as a double round-robin home and away, and the group winners and runners-up advancing to the round of 16. Three points are awarded for a win, one for a draw and none for a loss, with teams level on points ranked by the following criteria in order: points in head-to-head matches, head-to-head goal difference, head-to-head goals scored, if more than two teams are tied and a subset remains tied after the head-to-head criteria these head-to-head criteria are reapplied only to that subset, then overall goal difference and overall goals scored, then, if only two teams are tied and they play each other in the last group match, a penalty shoot-out is held, if that condition does not apply disciplinary points are used, then drawing of lots. The knockout stage is single-elimination, ties are played over two legs home and away, the final is a single match, extra time and penalties are used if required after the aggregate score is level, and the final host is pre-determined on a rotation basis between regions.
