Caribbean Cup (CFU Caribbean Cup) - an international national-team competition for the Caribbean region organised by the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), staged from 1989 to 2017 and used as a qualifying pathway for Caribbean teams into the CONCACAF Gold Cup. Regulations: the tournament typically featured qualifying rounds to determine the finalists, while the final stage format varied, with a common model being 8 teams split into 2 groups of 4 followed by semi-finals and a one-match final, and group matches using 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. In knockout matches, if the score was level after normal time, extra time was played and, if still level, the winner was decided by a penalty shoot-out, and when Gold Cup berths required it an additional play-in stage could be used between teams finishing in comparable positions in the Caribbean process.
