

International Champions Cup (ICC) - an annual pre-season club exhibition tournament staged as a series of friendly matches across multiple host countries and regions. Regulations: the format and the number of participating clubs varied by year, teams played a limited set of matches and the champion was determined by an overall standings table on points, with 3 points for a win in regulation time and 0 for a regulation loss, and when a match finished level after 90 minutes it was decided by a penalty shoot-out, with 2 points awarded for a shoot-out win and 1 point for a shoot-out loss, with standard table tie-breakers applied as needed, including goal difference and goals scored. The tournament ran from 2013 to 2019, the 2020 edition was cancelled and the competition was subsequently abolished.
