The Czech Cup, also known as the MOL Cup, is the country's premier football cup competition, held annually since 1993. Organised by the Czech Football Association, the tournament offers clubs the chance to compete for a prestigious trophy as well as the right to represent the country in the UEFA Conference League.

The tournament features clubs from all levels of the Czech football pyramid, from professional teams in the First League to amateur teams from the lower divisions. The Czech Cup features a traditional straight-elimination format: each stage consists of a single match, with a draw at the end of regulation time leading to extra time and, if necessary, a penalty shootout.

The MOL Cup is known for its unexpected results, as underdogs from the lower divisions often pull off surprises by eliminating stronger teams. For example, in the 2011/2012 season, the third division team Znojmo reached the semi-finals, defeating several teams from the top division along the way. In the 2012/2013 season, Mlada Boleslav repeated this success by winning the Cup, becoming only the second team in history to win the trophy without being a member of the top league in the year of victory.

Sparta and Slavia Prague, as well as Viktoria Plzeň, stand out among the most successful clubs in the history of the tournament. These teams traditionally dominate the national championship and often duplicate their successes in the cup arena. For example, Slavia won the Czech Cup in 2018 and 2019, thus completing a golden double, winning the championship and the Cup in one season.

In terms of statistics, the most productive final was the 2010 match between Sparta and Jablonec, which ended with a score of 2:1. However, the highest number of goals in a single match was scored in 1998, when Sparta thrashed Sigma Olomouc 6-0 in the final.
