Serie B 2024/2025, all matches

The Italian Serie B, known as Serie BKT, is an important division of professional football in Italy. Founded in 1929, Serie B plays a key role in the development of Italian football, providing clubs with the opportunity to compete for promotion to Serie A.

The 2023/2024 season included 20 teams, each of which played a “two-round robin” system. This means that each team plays every other team twice - home and away, for a total of 38 rounds. At the end of the season, the teams finishing first and second are automatically promoted to Serie A. The teams finishing third to eighth participate in the playoffs for the third promotion spot. The playoffs consist of two rounds: the semi-finals and the final, which are played over two legs (home and away).

The teams that finish bottom of the table are relegated to Serie C. This format maintains a high level of competition at all stages of the season, as teams seek to either gain promotion or avoid relegation.

At the end of the 2023/2024 season, Parma and Como finished in the top two spots and were directly promoted to Serie A. Parma won the title with 76 points, while Como finished second with 73 points. The promotion playoffs included Venezia, Cremonese, Catanzaro, Sampdoria, Palermo and Brescia. As a result of the playoffs, Venezia took third place and were also promoted to Serie A.

Teams relegated at the end of the 2023/2024 season include Feralpisalo, Lecco and Bari. These teams have been relegated to Serie C, losing their places in Serie B to teams that have been promoted from the lower division.

Serie B is a 38-round, double-round robin format. The teams that finish in the top two positions are directly promoted to Serie A, while the teams that finish in third to eighth place participate in the playoffs. Relegation from Serie B threatens the last three teams, who are replaced by the best teams from Serie C.

The 2023/2024 season has demonstrated the high level of competitiveness and performance of the teams, confirming the important role of Serie B in Italian football and its importance for the development of players and clubs in the country.
