The Azerbaijan Premier League, also known as the Azerbaijan Premier League (Azərbaycan Premyer Liqası), is the top division of the country's football league system. Founded in 1992, the Premier League has become a central element of Azerbaijan's football culture, attracting the country's best teams and giving them the opportunity to compete for the title of champion.

Tournament regulations:

The Azerbaijan Premier League is made up of 10 teams, each of which plays 36 matches per season - four games against each opponent (two matches at home and two away). The season begins in August and ends in May. At the end of the season, the team that finishes first is crowned the champion of Azerbaijan and earns the right to participate in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Champions League. The teams that finish second and third earn the right to participate in the UEFA Conference League.

The team finishing last may be relegated to the second division, the Azerbaijan First League, giving way to the winner of this division. However, in some seasons, the format of transition between divisions may change depending on the decisions of the Azerbaijan Football Federation.
